Samantha went into labor around 11 PM on Wednesday, 1/17. My parents came to our house to be there with Jace and then we headed to the hospital. When we got there it was chaos because they were experiencing a huge surge of women in labor. The room they put Samantha in was normally used as a storage room so they had to move a bunch of boxes out of there. Also, they were keeping a broken bed in there because nobody used the room so Samantha had to use an uncomfortable small bed for the first few hours. Worst of all, the anesthesiologist was busy with all the other women so Samantha had to wait a lot longer than usual to get the epiduril.

However, once she got a good bed and the epiduril she was feeling a lot better. When it came time to push she only had to push for 25 minutes. Contrast that to when Jace was born when there was 2.5 hours of pushing, forceps, and they were talking about prepping the C-Section room. Rez came out so fast that he caught the doctor by surprise and she had to catch him. It was her fifth delivery in 24 hours but she still did an amazing job.

We spent the next two days at the hospital with very little sleep and mediocre hospital food but now we are back home and comfortable. A lot of family and friends helped out which made things a lot better.
