Skydiving

My company gave me a gift card from Excitations that I used for skydiving with Bay Area Skydiving. The airport was in Byron so it's pretty close to us.

The weather turned out to be great because the sky cleared up and there was no wind. However, when I was falling there was a layer of ice crystals that went up my nose. If the jump didn't wake me up that definitely did!

Here is a video:

Here are some pictures:

This is me trying to smile as I hyperventilate.

I thought they would wait at the doorway and count down or something but they pretty much just pushed me out which caught me off guard. It's probably best to get it over with quickly though.

In this picture you can see the Byron airport below us.

I didn't really know what to do while they were filming me and I felt pretty out of it from the air rushing up my nose so I just made the same facial expression and yelled the whole way down.

The only part I was worried about was the landing since I've heard it's pretty common for people to break their legs or ankles even if they have experience. I have to say that my jump partner Connie did an awesome job and it was effortless.

The experience was great and I recommend that everyone does it at least once. The only scary part is when you take that first step and everything else is amazing.
