Howard Woodrow Wilson
Born in Ft Worth, Texas on 9/29/1926.
Died in Vallejo, California on 11/19/2009.
He had been married to my Grandma since 10/17/1947.
He ran away from foster parents as a teenager and hitchhiked from Texas to California. He became a repo man and repossessed cars before he was old enough to drive. He lied about his age so he could join the Air Force and participate in WWII. He delivered ice. He was a plumber. He became a Southern Baptist pastor and moved his family to dozens of towns across the country. He became a State Farm agent in San Leandro. He retired and lived on a sailboat with my grandma and they sailed around most of the Western Hemisphere. He was a strong, joyful, and mischievous man. He could make a stranger a friend in 30 seconds. I will miss him.
