Jace's 2nd Christmas

Somehow Jace's holiday instincts kicked in and he was excellent at opening presents.

Jace is mesmerized by the fire. You can see that even Asha has her own stocking.

Every nativity scene should include Yoda.

Here's a video of Jace opening presents.

Scary Christmas!

The Pope wearing a Santa Claus hat.

Not sure if this is real or not but here is the article. It's the scariest picture I've seen in a while.

29

I spent my birthday in San Jose. Because of Christmas In The Park there were a lot of carnival rides downtown. There was a Ferris Wheel outside the window of our hotel room. I convinced Samantha to go even though she is afraid of heights. Alena and I had fun freaking her out during the ride.

Everyone went to Fuji Sushi for dinner. They have the biggest Bento boxes! Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Miso soup, salad, California rolls, Tuna Sashimi, rice, Edamame, and Tempura! Yummmmmmmm.

And then we ended the night at Bamboo 7 of course for some karaoke. We got the coveted corner seating area and were there till well past midnight.

Nedodymium magnets

I always loved playing with powerful magnets when I was a kid, but these blow all those out of the water:

If carrying one into another room, carefully plan the route you will be taking. Computers & monitors will be affected in an entire room. Loose metallic objects and other magnets may become airborne and fly considerable distances - and at great speed - to attach themselves to this magnet. If you get caught in between the two, you can get injured.
Two of these magnets close together can create an almost unbelievable magnetic field that can be very dangerous. Of all the unique items we offer for sale, we consider these two items the most dangerous of all. Our normal packing & shipping personnel refuse to package these magnets - our engineers have to do it. This is no joke and we cannot stress it strongly enough - that you must be extremely careful - and know what you're doing with these magnets. Take Note: Two of the 3" x 1" disc magnets can very easily break your arm if they get out of control.
Axially Magnetized (the top & bottom flat faces are the north & south poles).
We can only ship these magnets by ground UPS - they cannot be shipped via air as it will interfere with the aircraft's navigational equipment.

You can find them here.

Leaning Tower of South Dakota

Apparently the largest building in South Dakota was a 200 foot tall grain mill. So, when city officials decided to demolish it to make room for new construction the implosion was a highly anticipated event around the state. Unfortunately I guess there isn't a South Dakota company with this kind of experience because after the explosions went off the building just kind of leaned to the side.

Here's a detailed story.

Here's a link with hilarious videos, you can hear people laughing in the background!

A rare case of restraint

Ever since I was about four I have owned every major video game console pretty close to launch date. After I entered the workforce my gaming time diminished and now that I have a toddler running around I'm lucky if I can power up a console once a month.

When the Xbox 360 launched I half-heartedly thought about waiting in line for one but I realized I'd have little time to play it and there are only a handful of mediocre games available for it.

Also, it turns out that there are a quite a few serious problems with the first batch.

Update: new class action lawsuit.
