Tragedy in my neighborhood

I just found out that two little girls who lived around the corner from us died in a small plane crash in Visalia on Friday. Their grandpa was flying and their grandma was with them too. The wife who lives by us lost her children and parents on the same day. I can't even imagine what they are going through. It definitely makes you think about how important family is and to not take them for granted.

Time to rest

So, in the last seven days I:
- Flew to San Diego for the day to meet a client
- Spent two nights in San Francisco for an employee event which included a 9-hour meeting
- Drove to Lake Tahoe for an employee ski event
- Took a 2-hour certification exam for my job
One thing about skiing... I hadn't done it for eleven years! But, after about two hours I was able to go on the black diamond runs without significant effort. I guess you really do retain the physical memory of a sport. One thing I didn't retain was my aerobic capacity. I was wheezing at the bottom of each run. It was still a lot of fun though and I think I'd like to go again.
