Catching Up

It's been a while since my last post because I've been pretty busy. Two weeks ago I was in Minneapolis for a week and last week I stayed in San Francisco most of the time.

Minneapolis was a pleasant surprise. It was a very interesting and clean city that was fun to explore. Due to the cold weather in the winter all the buildings downtown are connected by "Skyways" that let you walk from one side of downtown to the other without stepping outside. It had the effect of turning the city into one big mall (maybe that's what inspired the nearby Mall of America).

In San Francisco we had a lot of meetings but they were briefly interrupted by a fun "team-building exercise". We rented 11 GoCars and had a scavenger hunt across the city. The weather was beautiful and it was a great way to tour the city in an open air car. The only problem is that the vehicles are really scooters that have been turned into larger 3-wheel cars that can hold two adults. This meant that the engine was grossly underpowered for the job. On one hill we started going backwards even though I was giving it full throttle. Despite that (and the inherent danger of driving a slow knee-high vehicle in a big city) I highly recommend them as something different to do.

I'll leave you with a video of Rez having fun with a baby bouncer:

A's Game

On Sunday I went to see the A's play with Samantha, Jace, Rez, Alena, Eddie, Cole, and my parents. We got to sit in one of the suites which was nice (as long as I'm not paying...).

The game was great because they A's came back from a 7-0 deficit against the Tigers and won in extra innings. After the game I rushed Jace to the other side of the stadium so that we could run around the bases. It was really hot and he was on my shoulders and I was sprinting so I thought I would pass out. Here is a long-distance shot of everyone running on the field:

Here is a close-up of Jace and I:
