Tiger Team

Tiger Team is my new favorite TV Show (with the writer's strike that's not saying much). I don't get Court TV (soon to be called Tru TV) but you can watch the episodes online through their website.

The show follows a group of people who are hired to test the security of various companies. They actually break in to the company and simulate a theft. It's so much more interesting to me than watching an action movie where people jump between laser beams.

Jace's new camera

Jace got his own digital camera for Christmas:

Here are some of his first pictures:

I just need to teach him to hold it steady and that people don't like to have their pictures taken from low angles (not that he can help that).

Happy Holidays

Here are some pics from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:

Asha is either sad because she didn't get to unwrap presents or because of her Christmas collar:

Jace waited for about 10 minutes for his cousin to come back and pedal him around the yard. He gave up eventually:

Rez has to keep eating to keep his belly perfectly round:

Rez trying to find a gap in the fireplace barrier I constructed:

Asha's stocking contents:

Jace plays harmonica while he watches me play "The Simpsons Game" on the Wii. Rez is trying to get to my cup of tea which I'm drinking since I had the misfortune of getting a cold on Christmas Day:

Jace decided to take a picture of himself:

He also took a picture of the Charlie Brown Christmas show:

No, our table isn't tiny, my parents brought over a huge bottle of wine:

Not sure what emotion Jace was feeling here:

Rez's first toy that wasn't a hand-me-down:

Bows are better than toys:

Rez eats another animal:

Presidential Candidate "Match-O-Matic"

This is a fun tool to use. Answer a few questions to see which presidential candidate matches your answers the closest. I was surprised by my results:

1) Mike Gravel (D)
2) Dennis Kucinich (D)
3) Ron Paul (R)

I hope someone else makes an even more detailed and accurate tool like this. It helps cut through the marketing a bit.

Shibboleth

If you recall, Samantha and I visited the Tate Modern about a year and a half ago while we were in Europe. Here is a picture I took of the installation on the main floor at the time:

I stumbled across a picture of the latest installation while looking at Reuter's pictures of the year (which I recommend checking out):

The installation on the main floor of the Tate Modern is called "Shibboleth" by Doris Salcedo. The word is defined as the use of language to exclude or include social groups.

Here is a video:

The Tate Modern is a great building for these kind of installations because it is so cavernous and unique since it was formerly a power plant. It's location on the Thames makes for incredible views if you visit the higher floors.

SLO 2007

We went to San Luis Obispo for four days. Here are some pics:

We went to the Avila Valley Barn to buy some fresh food and we also checked out the animals. Here is Samantha with some ponies:

We went to Avila beach. The weather was in the low sixties with no wind or clouds. It was perfect:

Here are some cool flowers in front of a cool house in SLO:

I used to always get the little fried bean burritos at the local Fosters Freeze. They are definitely not healthy. I got one again and they are just as good as I remembered:

This is the house I used to live in:

We went to MontaƱa de Oro State Park for a hike:

Here are some stacked rocks on the beach:

We made a sea "bouquet" from found objects:

We walked around Morro Bay:

We found a great spot to get tons of fresh fish straight from the fishing boats. Here I am posing with my new shirt:

Here is our food which includes gigantic oysters:

We swung by Cuesta College to see an art display. It was called "Sanguilicious" by Julie Hughes:

We stopped by Harmony because we love it but we never buy anything because it's crazy-expensive ($20 for a little mug). The neighboring town of Cambria is also tailored for rich tourists:

We visited Hearst Castle:

The End!

Random post

I don't have much to say right now but I thought I'd throw some content on her just to keep all my thousands of loyal readers entertained.

Here is a picture of my dog when she is pretending to be a cat:

Here is a video of randomness at home:

Samantha and I are getting ready to go to San Luis Obispo for a four-day vacation starting Saturday morning. It's sort of for my birthday, too. I'll take some pictures of that and post them afterwards.
