Amazing video of a meteor

That's the coolest thing I've seen in a while. It must have been amazing to see it in person. It seems like special effects from a movie.

A police car dashboard camera captured the footage two days ago.

Here is an article with more info.

Plug your nose...

Yesterday I worked from home and the boys stayed home from preschool because Rez has had a runny nose and cough for the last week. I also kept Jace home under the theory that he would keep Rez occupied a little so I could get some work done.

The morning went normally and during my lunch break I took them to the park. When we got back it was time for lunch so I gave Rez a string cheese and then a sippy cup of milk. A few minutes later I heard the sound of tons of liquid pouring on the carpet so I figured that Rez had unscrewed the top of the sippy cup. Unfortunately he had thrown up everywhere. As I was evaluating the situation he walked to another part of the carpet and threw up two more times. I changed his clothes and used the carpet cleaning machine to take care of the damage to the room.

I called Kaiser and they told me to keep him hydrated and make sure he doesn't have a fever. They said if he is able to hold down liquid and solids in the next day or so he shouldn't have to go in. So I drove to the store and bought Pedialyte and a digital thermometer because our old one was broken.

I gave Rez some Pedialyte and he threw it up. I gave him some Cheerios (doctor recommended) and he threw it up. I gave him some yogurt (doctor recommended) and he threw it up. I took his temperature and it was normal. I changed his clothes again and put him to bed for his afternoon nap.

When he woke up I gave him some more Pedialyte and he threw it up. I changed his clothes again. For the rest of the day he was able to drink and eat a little without throwing up which was great.

In the morning I was taking a shower and Jace came in to the bathroom and told me he wanted to wash his face because he had "sand" on him. When I got out of the shower I looked at Jace and he was covered from head to toe in throw up. I took off his clothes and put him in the shower and went to check out his bed. He covered three blankets, sheets, a pillow case, and the floor with chunky lasagna vomit. I cleaned it all up and now he is on Pedialyte too! Hopefully the worst is over...

Acceptance Speech

44th President

This got me thinking about what percentage of America is black. According to 2006 estimates (and confirmed in the 2000 census) the answer is slightly over 12%. 1/44 is only 2%. So if the next couple presidents are black and Hispanic (also 12% of population) everything will be evened out :)
